Okay, like the title says, we're looking for rock goddess's here, or to re-word it for thoes who don't kno what one is, a rock chick, (I personally don't like rock chick). so, who is your favourite female, and why? It can be group, but only all female group. I'll post mine later.

The 2 favourites of mine that come to mind when thinking rock, would be, Skunk Anansie, and Jack off Jill. now not sure if they are totally female bands, but are both fronted by women, and are great.

Jack off Jill? lmao! I really should open this to bands that are fronted by women. wich means, the singers have to be women. So, having said that, my list is as follows;
Nelly Furtado, Kelly Clarkson, the pussycat dolls, George (fronted by Katie), and Heart.

Liz, When you mean Rock, do you actually mean anything music? only several of your list are R and B, or pop, and not what I'd call rock.
George is excellent, as is elixia Katie's solo band, even though not rock.

Carrie Brownstein, Corrin Tucker and Janet Weiss, the members of Sleater-Kinney. 'Nuff said.

Liz I agree with Kev. Your question and your examples don't match (Nelly Furtado? Pussycat Dolls? Hmmm definitely R & B). I think its also worth noting that artists often release different tracks (or versions of the same track) for different international audiences so we might not all be basing off the same material (Shania Twain springs to mind as an example of this).

That aside, I think I'd have to say Skin (ex-Skunk Anansie) has one of the most powerful "rock" voices I've heard; don't think I'd call her a Rock Goddess though.

shit, Kev and Dusty your right. If I could change the first post I would have included rNB and pop in it as well, but seeing as I can't, then I'll just say that it's open to the indevidual interpratation.

I'd have to say Joan Jett and Pat Benatar.

What about Guano Apes, they have one scary female singer, also Karn O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she's quite unique and actually good, Skin is definitely the closest I've seen to a female rock star, don't like her solo material much but I went to 2 Skunk Anansie concerts and both were absolutely awesome. The Garbage front woman is another example, she's embarking on a solo career I believe and Gwen Steffany of course is just cool, No Doubt rocks, again, I don't like her solo material, her lyrics are horrendous (this shit is bananas b a n a n a s) but her singing is good and she has some awesome songs over the years.

What about Chrissy Hind, Anne Wilson from Hart, or Alanis Morisette?
